What Makes A Man Sexy

Maybe it's just me but there is something irresistable about a man who lights up around babies. Even if you're not a "baby person", there's just something about a man with a mostly hidden soft side that peeks out every now & then.
Also, a man that has love and compasion for animals. This is a real "turn-on" for me. And to think that I was blessed with a man of this nature. How lucky am I? Very!

man + animal = heart going pitty-pat

Also very sexy? Is the man who has no idea he is...

Sometimes you meet a person who really makes you appreciate little things about the people already in your life--little things you knew were there but now have renewed gratefulness for once you've seen someone who lacks these particular characteristics. Not that you ever took these great qualities for granted, more like you realize now just how many people don't exhibit them...and should. You know what i mean?

Durham Scrap and Stamp Expo

This past weekend, my sister Lorrie and I drove up to Durham, NC to attend the Scrapbook and Stamp Expo that was held there. There are classes offered, but neither Lorrie nor I was interested in partaking in any of them. (What? Do we consider ourselves experts in all they had to offer so much as we felt we didn't need to take any classes? No. We just were too cheap and wanted more money in our pockets for us to shop with!) We were both rather psyched as we just knew that there was going to be lots of the latest and greatest available. I, myself, have done next to no scrapbook shopping since Christmas. (Except for one whirlwind day a couple weeks ago when Lorrie and I went to Target and found so many goodies that were on clearance!) Because of this, I felt that I could splurge a bit and buy a lot of the things that I've only been able to drool over online and in the magazines. Scrapbooking is an interesting thing. I have tons and tons (and tons) of supplies, but I always want more. I can never have enough. I think the shopping and collecting is a very important part of the hobby, at least for me. Being a hoarder, and obsessor and a collector, it appeals to all those parts of me. I also (although you wouldn't believe it looking at my cluttered home) really love to organize things, so putting things away and then taking them out and changing them around and then reorganizing again is something else that I enjoy about it. The great thing about being at a convention like that is that everyone else around you is just as obsessed as you are. Like Lorrie and I both say, "We're among our own kind." I particularly love paper (and ribbon) and am drawn to the brights as well as the distressed look that's super popular right now. Another "in" thing is the "altered" art and today I got well stocked up in all the latest goodies in that category. I stayed away from the more "premade" type of accents and my big purchases today were all mostly stamp sets and watercolor crayons. (Which I seen and just HAD to have! Now to see if I will only USE them!) I got a couple Heidi Swapp Masks that are real big right now and some awesome ribbon, which are another of my weaknesses and a few other little doo dads. I got myself some little rag dolls that I am going to make for my scraproom. They are going to be my scrapping friends and I am going to make them in the like of Lorrie, Holly, Janet and myself. (But that's a different story so don't ask about it right now!) (Stop laughing Lorrie!) Alot of the booths there offered some huge dollar bins and Lorrie and I greedily loaded ourselves up with these. "These were originally FIVE dollars!" I said to myself gleefully, some epoxy Sharon Soneff alphabets in my hand. This area was also the most congested of areas, and though most people were fine, I did get in a slight confrontation with one woman who felt that our line was the "wrong" one and that I was cutting in front of her. "I feel like I'm in ACMoore she said snottily to her friend and further remarked, "Some people." Some people, what? Some people would like to smack you in the face? And what was the whole ACMoore thing about? Does she often get into confrontations with people over the bargain bra bins? I had a few small disappointments. Not much Heidi Swapp stuff. No new Making Memories foam alphabet stamps. They DID have some really cool Chalks there that we went crazy over, but the price seemed high, and Lorrie and I DO have our limits. Lorrie wanted to get the Chalks, but didn't want to spend all that money for them. I wanted some new Basic Grey paper but they didn't have any. We shed some tears. Now the fun begins of putting my new stuff away! I sense some reorganization in my future!
