Too Funny......

I am currently at my sisters house waiting for her to feed her dear hubby before we go out for another adventurous trip to the ever loving Wally World. Seriously now, how many damn times can a person go to Wal-Mart a week and manage to spend $60-$70 each trip? Seriously now. This is getting rediculous! Any ways....

Sis invited me out to the garage to show me a couple things and I laughed so hard at something she was so proud of that I couldn't even wait until I got home tonight to blog about it! Now her and David are always talking about getting into shape and so they got these cute little matching pair of pedometers to keep track of how many miles they walk and such. Nice right? Sure is. Now here is where it gets good. She showed me the cool set of bikes they both got. Hers is red and hub's is blue. Nice bikes. Now she points out to me, see that round thing in the center of the front tires? Uh......yeah? "Well", she says, "that's the motor". "And the back metal part here, where you would put stuff, that's where the battery pack goes". Now she is telling me this with all sincerity and a completly straight face as if she was telling me how you mix eggs in a cake mix batter, like it's an every day thing! To say I about busted my gutt was an understatement! I cannot believe that they buy bikes with fricking MOTORS on them! Then she proceeds to show me where the gears are located and tells me that I should stop laughing, that you only use the motor "like when you get stuck going up hill". WHAT? Yeah, uh huh! Like that would be the only time they would use it! I could just hear Lorrie now. Man I just love these bikes! It puts the fun back into exercising doesn't it David? Hey honey by the way, could you please toss one of those Little Debbie coffee cakes over to me while we wait to get up this hill?

Not Much Went On Here Today

Not much went on today in the Ulrich household. I actually slept most of the day away because I just wasn't feeling very well. That lump in my stomach seems to be growing and damn did it hurt like hell yesterday! Today I decided I wasn't going to deal with the pain so I just stayed in bed and got caught up on some much needed beauty sleep. If you could see what I look like you would very much agree on how bad I need it! (snort!)

I didn't do a damn thing Christmasy either. I have been wanting to watch some Christmas movies and do some baking and stuff but just haven't had the energy. Nichole has off Tuesday and so we are thinking about doing some holiday baking. I am so stooked about that! I just LOVE to make Christmas cookies! We had so much fun last year doing it! I suggested that we go and bake by Nicholes new house but she claims she has no room and no kitchen table to use. I can sure fix that! She has the biggest kitchen out of all of us and that's why I want to go there! Besides.......I just love her house and am excited to spend some quality time there with her! We'll see.

Well I don't feel like writing much tonight so I'm going to cut it short. I have been trying to keep up with some writing and it'll probably take me awhile getting back used to doign it so just bare with me here will ya? This girl is trying!

That's all for now..........until later..........adios!

And So The Christmas Joke's Begin....

Three men died on Christmas Eve and were met by Saint Peter at the pearly gates.

'In honor of this holy season' Saint Peter said, 'You must each possess something that symbolizes Christmas to get into heaven.

'The first man fumbled through his pockets and pulled out a lighter. He flicked it on. 'It represents a candle', he said.'You may pass through the pearly gates' Saint Peter said.

The second man reached into his pocket and pulled out a set of keys. He shook them and said, 'They're bells.'Saint Peter said 'You may pass through the pearly gates'.

The third man started searching desperately through his pockets and finally pulled out a pair of woman's panties.St. Peter looked at the man with a raised eyebrow and asked, 'And just what do those symbolize?

'The man replied, 'These are Carols.'

A Happy Day After All

Skip the makeover thingy. I just can't do it and have no patience whatsoever right now.

So there. Deal with it. Can you tell I am very impatient person? When I want something, I want it right away. Instant gratification. That's me.

Any hoot.....I had a nice surprise today. Nichole and I had to go to the much dreaded mall today to drop off our presents for our Angels. (Angels meaning the names we picked off the Christmas tree for families in need.) The weather was rainy and dark and I needed gas badly, I was almost on empty when I pulled into the gas station at the corner by us. I pulled in but was actually on my way out thinking that it was way too crowded and that I would go somewhere else to save time but then though aw hell, I'm already here, might as well just stay here. So as soon as I pulled up to the pump this guy came up to my window with tickets in his hand and asked if I wanted $10 worth of free gas and handed me a ticket. I asked what the catch was and he told me there wasn't any. They were just promoting some rodeo thing at the RBC center and that they were giving away $500 worth of free gas just for that day. Actually, it was just $10 cards they were giving away. You didn't even have to buy gas, you could go into the store and get anything you wanted. Heck yeah I'll take it! I went in and the guy in front of me was getting himself 2 packs of cigarettes, a lady was getting beer and I got gas since that's what I went there for anyway. Sure shit, it was free. I was so happy! I didn't even know about it but the guy said that they have been advertising it on FOX 50 for a few days now. I watch channel 50 but I never seen it advertised! Lucky me! So you see ladies and gentlemen there is a lesson to be learned here. If you need to stop somewhere and see that the place is very busy, don't just pass it up. Stop anyways. It's busy for a reason and you just might benefit from it.

What a happy day it was...rain and all!

One Post-Four Months

I know it's been quite awhile since I've been here and updated, but here I am and I'm not even going to attempt to try and catch up on everything that has been going on around here. I'll do a briefing on the last couple months and then I'm going to try and come here more often and post. Yeah I know I say that all the time but seriously, I'm going to try hard this time! So.....with that being said, here is a brief update on the last couple month's of my life:

April 12th. Scott's Birthday: THIS is what really kept me away and ate up so much of all my time! Dear daughter Nichole decided on giving daddy a birthday present that keeps on giving-a puppy. She knew he always wanted a English Bulldog and so she found one that one of her co-workers were giving away. "Oh daddy would be SO excited, he'd love me forever!" Yeah. Right. 2 things wrong here. 1) we sooo did not want another dog (if we wanted one we would have certainly had gotten one!) 2) He is NOT a English Bulldog. He is a Boxer mix. Now a Boxer is part of the bulldog family, but they look nothing like an English Bulldog. She must have just heard the "bulldog" part and little bells started going off in her little head and.....well........you know. I asked her when she went to pick up the pup, did she notice that the momma wasn't an English. She said that there was just 1 more dog there and that no, it wasn't. She didn't know that this dog was the mother. The 15 nipples hanging down dragging the ground didn't give it away. (I seen pictures). I'm really worried about her. This is our daughter. She is assistant manager of a store. A drugstore.
Needless to say, the dog is still here and luckily still alive. (I'll elaborate more on that topic later). Let's move on.

May 5th. Cinco De Mayo and also my birthday. Nothing much happened here. I had to work that evening and so I missed out on my birthday dinner. I always look forward to being able to pick anywhere I want to go eat on my day. I can do it 364 other days also, but it just doesn't mean as much to me as on my birthday. Go figure. So on my way to work I went through McDonald's drive through and ordered me my favorite-a double cheeseburger and a large sweet tea. Not much of a birthday dinner, but I LOVE McD's double cheeseburgers and I LOVE sweet tea so it wasn't all that bad.

Also started to have our house worked on. We are having siding put up and having all our windows on the house replaced. We've been wanting to do that now for quite some time and so we took the plunge and hired the guy that did the same thing to our neighbors house. We seen his work and he did a beautiful job over there and so we decided to go with him. You always hear stories about how it can be a nightmare having home improvements done? Well, now I believe them stories. It's been utter chaos around here and it's really making me want to pull out my (grey) hair. I know it'll look so nice in the end but the process is driving me nuts. I'm an instant gratification kind of girl. I want it NOW!

June 27-29th. Me and sis went on our first SDV in Durham! For those of you who are non-scrappers SDV is short for "Scrappers Dream Vacation". Three days of non-stop scrapping. No kids, dogs, husbands to bother us. Meals were provided along with late-night coffee and tea served. Oh yeah.....hotel room included for 2 nights. It was awesome! Definitely going to be an annual event for us! It was so worth the money and I can't wait until next year when it comes around again!

June 28. Got a call from my boss. He just wanted to let me know that my position at work has been eliminated and I no longer have a job. 23 years with that damn place and that's the thanks I get. Not that it is such a bad thing......I have been wanting to get out of there now for such a long time that I look at this as a door that opened up for me. I guess I was scared of leaving there. You know, like it was my little sense of security or something. Yeah right. I seen this coming a long time ago. So.........what am I going to do now? I have no fucking clue. Enjoy the rest of the summer and take that much needed vacation I have been hoping for and taking it I am. I got me a ticket to fly back home (to Wisconsin) for a couple weeks. I'll be on that plane early Saturday morning, Aug.2nd. and won't be back until August 17th. I'll be very busy doing all kinds of fun stuff up there but I will also have a lot of down time also so that will give me time to hopefully try and keep this thing updated. Yeah. Like who reads it anyways. (smirk)

With that being said, the next time you will see me here again I'll be 1,000 miles away from home having a blast with my kids!

A Boring Post Today

Oh my goodness what a BEAUTIFUL day! The weather here has been so nice for the last week or so and I have been slowly starting to get into summer mode! Even done some yard work on my long 4 day weekend last week. I just love doing yard work. Hand me a branch trimmer, saw, rake, work gloves and I am there baby! And don't even get me started on burning! Give me a 12 pack of Corona's, a pile of brush and a book of matches and I'll be out there all night! I often remind Scott how lucky he is that he has a woman that loves working outside. Anyways, today it's going to be 80 degrees out and wouldn't ya know it, I have to work. Not too bad though because it's Friday and just knowing that it's the weekend makes me a happy girl. I don't know what I'm going to do this weekend. I was thinking about doing my spring cleaning but then I'll want to have all the windows open and right now is the worst time for it. My whole entire house and everything in it will turn green with all the pollen. I do however have a list of things I have to do for other people so I'm thinking of getting caught up with that.

I hope everyone has a glorious day!

Sorry for the boring post today but I'll share some fun stuff tomorrow!

By The Way.....

I forgot to mention this but remember the mailbox contest from my previous post? Well.........I won second place! Yay me!!!

Saturday

I love Saturdays like this. Slept in until 12:30 this afternoon. Not because I was tired, but because I was just plain lazy and I felt I deserved it. Me staying up until after four in the morning really had nothing to do with it! Neither did me drinking a "few" drinks either! Hey....I had a rough week and it's the weekend and I'm entitled so....

After finally getting my ass out of bed, I done a quick cleanup of the house. Vacuuming, washing dishes, making the bed you know.....the usual. After that a quick shower and Nick and I were off for some serious shopping! I really wanted to go to Archivers because it's been so long since I've been there. Like a total of maybe 3 days and I needed to look for something for me to make Easter cards with. Found a ADORABLE card that I wanted to make but just my damn luck, the stamps that were used to make it with were sold out! I was so mad! They had everything else there for Easter except for the one thing that I wanted! I swear it always turns out that way! I've been walking around the house for the last couple weeks saying to Nicki..."I have to make Easter cards-what should I do? I have to make Easter cards-what should I do? What should I do for Easter cards? I have to come up with an Easter card idea- what should I do?". That poor girl! Every holiday that I need to make cards for she gets to hear this from me every single day I see her! It's no wonder she is starting to despise holidays! That trip to Archivers was a waste of time for me. All I came home with was $49.00 in crap that I "needed" like I needed a hole in my head. I still don't know what I'm going to do so unfortunately Nichole has to still listen to me.

I also didn't find what I was looking for at the mall. Nichole for some reason thinks I need a new pair of shoes. She literally hates the ones I wear now everyday. I think they are called deck shoes? It's the simple ugly slip on ones. They are made of canvas, are black with white skulls on them. She hates them and I love them! Actually she says they aren't all THAT bad, but when I wear nice black pants and a pretty pink blouse and look all nice with my hair pinned up and then I wear these shoes, it just doesn't look good at all. I say that at the age of almost 44 that it doesn't matter what it looks like.....it's how comfortable they are and how much I like them! She just rolls her eyes and sighs. She's young right now but she's going to get old one day and then she'll know what I'm talking about.
I didn't end up buying much of anything. I bought a glass lazy susan on clearance for like $6.50 and a birthday gift for my mother-in-law. Also got a devotional book and a book on tape (Joyce Meyers) at Barnes & Noble. We didn't even get to the second level of the mall and they were closing. Since we didn't spend much money shopping she suggested we we go out for cocktails afterwards. Well need I say she didn't have to say twist my arm for that one! We ended up at La Cacina- a Mexican place that serves the BEST strawberry margaritas EVA! We ordered a pitcher and also some dinner and we were laughing so hard I about pee'd my damn pants! I just love spending time with her like this! Always ALWAYS a good time! One thing I say about my kids.....all 3 of them, is that they ROCK! My day was originally planned for just cleaning and scrapping, but I had a much better time spending it with her instead!

FBI Job Opening

A friend of mine sent me this today and it was just too funny not to share here. (Thanks Kara!) Enjoy!
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The FBI had an opening for an Assassin

After all the background checks, interviews andtesting were done, there were 3 finalists; two men and a woman. For the final test, the FBI agents took one of the men to a large metal door and handed him a gun. "We must know that you will follow your instructions no matter what the circumstances. Inside the room you will find your wife sitting in a chair . Kill her!!" The man said, "You can't be serious. I could never shoot my wife." The agent said, "Then you're not the right man for this job. Take your wife and go home.

"The second man was given the same instructions. Hetook the gun and went into the room. All was quiet for about 5 minutes. The man came out with tears in his eyes, "I tried, but I can't kill my wife." The agent said, "You don't have what it takes. Take your wife home."

Finally, it was the woman's turn. She was given the same instructions, to kill her husband. She took the gun and went into the room. Shots were heard, one after another. They heard screaming, crashing, banging on the walls. After a few minutes, all was quiet. The door opened slowly and there stood the woman, wiping the sweat from her brow. "This gun is loaded with blanks" she said. "I had to beat him to death with the chair."

My Husband....

To my dear husband who has been there for me for more then 25 years. I love you so much more now then the day that I married you. I'm so happy I was there in the back yard by Gerg's house that day when you came home. I knew right then and there that we would be forever.

I was right.

Happy Valentines Day Scott! I love you bunches!

Love Terese

A Valentines Day Gift

Happy Valentines Day!

23 years ago today I got the best Valentines Day gift a woman could ever want or ask for. It didn't come in a box, I couldn't wear it nor could I eat it. I couldn't place it in the middle of my desk to show it off for everyone to see. This was a gift much more meaningful then that. It was the birth of our daughter. The very last one we would ever have.

She was so tiny that little girl. With little wrinkled fingers and little wrinkled toes and a head full of black hair like a little Indian baby! Where all that hair came from I haven't a clue! One look at her and she stole my heart! This beautiful, pure, innocent blessing from above and she was given to me. To us. The best Valentines Day gift I could ever in my entire life ask for.

She turned out to be a beautiful woman that little girl. So very brave, strong and always knowing what she wants and working like hell to make her wishes and dreams come true. What I love most about her is that she marches to the beat of her very own drummer. Unique. One of a kind. Precious. Not only to us but to all the people that know her and all the lives that she has touched along the way.

Holly this Valentines Day wish is for you. Thank you for all the love and happiness you have given us. And how can we ever forget, Happy 23rd. Birthday sweetheart! We love and miss you more then you will ever know!

Love Mom and Dad!

Valentines Day Projects

Just wanted to post some valentines day projects I've been working on here lately. I love Valentines Day! So much love in the air!

Here are some valentines day cards I made for my scrapping friends! Kind of plain jane but also very pretty and feminine.

I ran out of supplies and needed more cards so I had to resort to scraps I ahd on hand and finished with making these. Not too happy with these but....

This is from the dollar spot at Target. It's a little mailbox that I altered for a Valentine Day mailbox decorating contest for our scrapping club. I won't know how good a job I did until the end of the month so keep your fingers crossed for me! lol

And last is this box filled with all kinds of Valentines Day goodies! This goes to one of my scrapping friends thats name was picked for a cupid exchange in our scrapping club! Think she'll like what I sent her?

That's all for right now. It's almost one o'clock in the afternoon and I'm still in my jammies (does that surprise anyone? lol) so I have to get my butt up and in gear. I have no clue as to what I am doing today, only to give the dogs a bath.

Y'all have a wonderful and safe weekend and thanks for coming and reading!

Thursday, January 31 st!

Honey....the birthday girl!
Willie even joined in on the fun!
Daddy didn't wrap the gifts like he was supposed to!
Just a couple of the squeeky toys she got!
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
I totally didn't have time to post this this past Thursday so let's pretend that today is January 31 st. shall we?

We are celebrating our little girls birthday today! She turned 10 today (70 in doggie years but we don't talk about that!) and so we had a small little party for her complete with party hats, treats and gifts! As she was playing with her new toys I was watching her and was overwhelmed with such love for her. I stopped and quietly said a little prayer thanking God for bringing her in this world for me. I really don't know what I would do without her in it.

Happy Birthday Honey! Mama loves you!!!

I forgot this yesterday

Here is a picture of the challenge that I finished yesterday. I was going to post it but I forgot! The challenge was without looking, pick six patterned papers out of your scraps and make a layout using them. I got pretty lucky here with the colors. It could have been worse. So whadya think?

Here...

Busy as a Bee

That was me this for the last 2 days. Busy busy busy.

I got a lot of cleaning done this weekend. Finally got in our bedroom closet and cleaned and organized everything in it. You can actually walk inside the thing now without stepping on shit! Nicki even commented on it..she looked in and said "I didn't know your closet had carpeting!" She's such a brat. We don't ever listen to her.
Along with the closet, we cleaned the bedroom, the kitchen, the office and the laundry room. I paid all the bills....cried......balanced my checkbook.....and cried harder. Hung up a few things on the walls that I had lying around, worked on my car, completed a collage frame of my dogs, organized some pictures, did all the laundry and took a trip to Target. Didn't find nothing good there except a nice candle holder for less then $5 (on clearance) and a couple scrapping things. Went looking for John Grisham and Stephen Kings new books but didn't see it. Maybe it doesn't come out until Tuesday? Watched "Tom Cruise's Mission Impossible 3 (was pretty good), talked long distance to my girl in Oak Creek, WI, took a trip to ACMoore (didn't find anything good except some dollar stamps) and since I was out in Cary I rode to JoAnns. I really had no intention of getting anything but when I seen that all their Christmas scrapping stuff was 70% off I simply couldn't refuse. I need more scrapping stuff like I need a hole in the head but how can I resist? I picked up some 12x12 card stock and 2 other smaller sized card stock stacks. Also got some Christmas chipboard embellies and letters and found some more dollar journal stamps that I couldn't find before when I was looking for them. Spent a bit over $65 but got a shit load of stuff for the money so I can't complain! Oh and guess what else I did..........

I scrapped. Yeah....do you believe it? I told myself that if I got all my work done this weekend I am going to treat myself and spend some time doing something fun and I actually did it! Can't believe I get so excited over having time to scrap. You think that now that all the kids are grown and gone.....well......except for that one......I would have all the time in the world to scrap but I don't. I don't know where the time goes but I don't think I'm getting the required 24 hours in a day like everyone else gets. I think I'm getting gypt. Anyway.......I finished 2 layouts tonight. One of them was a challenge that I was assigned to do. Without looking, pick 6 pieces of patterned paper from your scraps and make a layout using them. This was a hard one for me to do. If you know me, you know that I need to have all my patterned paper perfectly matched. I'm just funny that way. I can't do it no other way so this really was a challenge for me. I picked my paper and tried my best and I'm proud to say that I did it and it actually doesn't look all that bad either. It's not the best mind you, but it got me out of my comfort zone and made me try something new. I actually had fun doing this and can't wait until the next one! I have one more challenge to finish and I will be all caught up! Such a good feeling!

I'm tired now and so I'm off to bed. I know this post was a drag but that's all your going to get for now.

Nightie night!

Look At This Little Girl!

Isn't this the most adorable puppy you've ever seen? (Well.......besides my Honey that is!)
I seen her and I instantly fell in love! The owner has no intention of selling this little girl. I can only imagine how much money she could get for her, especially now with Valentines Day coming.
Adorable. Simply Adorable.
I WANT HER!!

Someone Wants To Say Hello!

Someone wanted to drop by and say hello to all our visiters here!

Aren't these the most adorable fur faces you have ever seen in your life? I'm still learning how to use my new camera and these two babies of mine are all too willing to stay put and let me try it out on them! They really must like this camera better then any one I've ever had before since they let me take as many pictures as I like without them ever getting bored or annoyed by the flash. These two are the greatest and I must say they are also my best photo subjects!

Surprise-Surprise!

I bet you thought you would come here and see the same damn thing you been seeing for the past 5 months haven't you? Boy did I surprise you or what!

I know it's been a long time since I been here and posted anything new, but since it's the new year and I am sooooo good at keeping new years resolutions.........(yeah I can say that! This is the first year that I actually kept one and didn't give up by January 2nd!) I think I may just come and post here more regularly. I have been so slack in keeping in touch with family and friends, trying to keep up with e-mails and my scrapping club and all the other stuff I have going on. I just couldn't find the time. Hopefully I will be able to change that. I don't expect to be here every day-that's just totally impossible, but I do plan on being here more often. So if by chance you decided to come back here and check to see if this blog is still up and running or if you are a newcomer, please drop me a line and let me know that you stopped by!

Since it's my first day back I don't want to over do it so I'm closing here. Besides...............it's late, I'm tired and have a major headache so I'm off to bed.

Oh, and by the way.........in case your wondering what last years resolution was..........it was to quit smoking. And so it has been over 1 year ago that I quit! Yay me! I'm so proud of myself!

Here is a parting shot.......................Goodnight!
