Weekend Update with Terese Ulrich
Also Friday while cropping at Archiver's we took a break and walked to the mall close by to grab a bite to eat and ran into a old friend of mine's husband. We talked briefly until I asked about his wife Sheryl and how she was doing since we haven't talked for a while. He told me that she up and walked out on him, their daughter and three grandchildren. I asked if she left him for someone else and he said yes. I asked if he knew who he was and he told me that yes, he does know who she was. SHE???? OMG! She left him for a woman. Who would have known! (Insert smirk here.) Everyone I knew that knew her guessed that but me. All that time that we hung around together.............................
Also in the news........my ex's sister's daughter Nicki had her baby. It was a boy and she named him Iziah! OMG what a cutie he is and all that dark hair he has..........can we say ADORABLE! So now I have to add a "Baby Boy" card to my list of cards to make! Maybe a mini chipboard album to go along with it I'm thinking? Congratulations Nicki! You are going to be such a wonderful mommy!
The rest of the weekend? Well, Nicki, Scott and I went out to dinner at the Chinese buffet (which I LOVE!) and then came home, built a fire and then scrapped a little bit. Who would have ever thought she would end up scrapping like her mom, sister and aunt? I did. I knew eventually she would join the cult! Too much fun to resist! I have to say I am so pleased with her work! You would never guess that by looking at her first layout that that was he very first layout! I am not exaggerating either! She was born to do this! Okay so that is an exaggerating but you get the idea! I'm just SO happy! Her supplies has even grown enough now that she needs more storage for it all! I know what I'm getting her for her birthday in July! he-he-he!
So who like crab legs? Lowe's Foods had some on sale for $2.99 lb. and so off Scott and I went to get some. Not that Scott likes them, he doesn't. I just made him come along with me for the ride. Also found some Moscato wine while we were there. That is my new favorite afternoon beverage! LOL! So dinner yesterday was soooooo yummy! Crab Legs and Shrimp Scampi=1 happy girl! I'm thinking I may just go and get some more before the sale ends in 2 days.
Golden Globes last night. I LOVE watching all the stars and see what everyone is wearing. I think the dress I loved the most was the one that Penelope Cruise was wearing. She. Looked. STUNNING! Beautiful beautiful dress! My second favorite was the one that Kate Hudson was wearing. The white one. So pretty! I swear she is so stinking cute! And the speech that Meryl Streep gave brought me to tears. Absolutely beautiful and very moving. I so admire her!
Well, it's Monday and it doesn't look like I'm going to start my "Make It Monday" because I didn't get a chance to go for groceries, so I might aim for "Try It Tuesday" instead. I see now that I have to start being prepared if I'm actually going to pull this off!
Did I mention that I have my windows open? Yes! I cannot believe it turned warm all of a sudden! How awesome is that! This house really needs to be aired out after being closed up so tight over the winter. Not only from the winter but from having shrimp and crab legs. Pew!

This here gal is Ree Drummond AKA Pioneer Woman. I have been reading her blog now....oh gosh.....I don't know......a couple years at least and she finally published a cookbook! Not only is she a fantastic cook but she is also a phenomenal photographer! If you have never been to her blog before, do yourself a favor and go take a look. You will become a huge fan like everyone else that has read it! Here's the link: http://pioneerwoman.com/. Make sure you bookmark it for you will definitely want to go back for more.
One of the things I love about her is she shows color pictures of each step of her recipes she posts. It's not only like this on her blog but it's like that in her cookbook too. As for me, I like to see what I'm supposed to be doing and see how the stuff should look considering mine never looks the same as in the books themselves! Pictures help me and I need all the help I can get!
Anyways, let's get to the point. Have you ever seen the movie "Julie & Julia'? If you haven't, you should. It's good. It's Julia Child's story of her start in the cooking profession that intertwined with blogger Julie Powell's 2002 challenge to cook all the recipes in Child's first book. I have heard of people doing this long time ago before I even heard of this movie and knew who Julie Powell was and I thought it was such a cool idea! Over the years I have thought about doing such a project, but honestly, I never found a cookbook that was that interesting enough to make everything in it......until now. Ree Drummond's book is that book. Only difference is, is that I am not going to make a recipe each day and I am not going to blog about it. I may mention what I make when I make it and what we thought about it, but the purpose of doing it is just to have fun and try new recipes. So in no way am I actually copying the movie. Not really, but I have to admit it does sound like it! So when am I going to start this silly project? I was thinking next week either Monday or Tuesday and that way I can call them "Make It Monday" or "Try It Tuesday" days. Or Friday can be "Fix It Friday's". LOL! I can't think of anything else clever that works for Wednesdays or Thursdays! So, that's what I'm going to do. Sound stupid or silly? It is, but what the heck? I'm getting bored eating hot dogs and hamburger helper. We need some change and you know what they say..... "change is a good thing!"
We'll see!

A Fresh New Look For A Fresh New Year!
I figured it's a new year and that means it's time for a new fresh look. Like it? They don't really have many templates to choose from and I don't know how to do all that fancy stuff like others do to their blogs so until I figure it out this is going to have to do. So just updating everything here took me about 3 hours or so. Doesn't look like that much work but it was! So sit back, get a hot cup of cocoa or a cold glass of wine or whatever beverage of your choice and have a look around and tell me what you think. Honestly I'm thinking that nobody is even going to acknowledge this thing but that's OK. I'm here writing for myself and finding out that it really feels pretty good just having a place I can go to to release my thoughts and whatever else I am feeling at the time. Kind of like a diary but not a diary. When I was a little girl I used to keep diaries only because I would get a shit load of them from my friend Gerg's aunt-I forget her name. She was the one up in Wausau. I would write everything in that bad boy and when I say everything, I mean EVERYTHING! Who I liked, who I wanted to kiss, who I wanted to...........well..........you get the idea. As I got older diaries started scaring me. I mean seriously, do people really write every private thought and feeling into a little 3x3 book that has a "padlock" on it? What they did and who they did it with written in very minute details? I'd be afraid someone would eventually find it and read it and you know they will! You can easily just walk out your front door and be accidentally shot by a drive-bye shooter and have no warning that your life was at an end and here you are leaving all this evidence of all the shit you did in your life time for someone to find. Me? I don't want anything left behind when I die. I even toss out stained underwear in case I die tomorrow and I don't want Scott to see. How humiliating that would be! Yes, even though I am dead I still feel I would be humiliated! Anyway, I am 45 years old now and seriously, even if I did keep a diary can you imagine how boring it would be? Probably as boring as this blog is. But I bet I would still have more blog readers then diary readers and that to me is sad. I think I need to liven up my life a bit more or just start getting back into trouble just so I would have something interesting to write about. I hate for people to think I live such a boring life.
I am tired and so I am outta here! G'night!

Getting Back To Writing
Not much to say right now. It's after 1:oo am and I took a sleeping pill about 10 minutes ago and I can already feel it starting to kick in so I must make this short and sweet.
Scott, Willie and I went by our daughters house this evening for a visit. It was very nice. Scott hung up a new mirror that she bought earlier in the week and hooked up our old DVD player that we gave her. Our son Ryan gave us a blu-ray for Christmas (yes!!) and so we gave her ours since she didn't have a DVD player. For that, she made us a delicious dinner consisting on lasagna, garlic bread and Italian bread with oil and spices. Mmmm! It's so nice having our daughter have her own place now AND having her cook for us.....what a treat! We watched a couple episodes of "Ghost Hunters" and we were doing ok up until the part where the lady showed her couple dolls that seemed to have "issues". The 2 dolls' eyes dilate on their own and their expressions on their faces change. They sat them down and held the cameras on them but they just wouldn't participate tonight. That's totally cool with me! Dolls have always been kind of freaky for me. I never did trust them.
That's all for tonight. My pillow is calling my name......................
